A multitude of talented musicians, young and old, gathered together on the Verizon Theatre stage for the third show of the 2014 Experience Hendrix Tour, to honor the memory of one of music’s brightest legends; Jimi Hendrix.
Blistering performances by Billy Cox (from Hendrix’s own The Experience band, as well as the Band of Gypsys), Buddy Guy, Zakk Wylde, Jonny Lang, Kenny Wayne Shepherd, Dweezil Zappa, Eric Johnson, Doyle Bramhall II, Chris Layton (along with Stevie Ray Vaughan, a founder of Double Trouble), Eric Gales, Mato Nanji (Indigenous), Dani Robinson, Stan Skibby, and Brad Whitford (from Aerosmith). A magical evening for any Hendrix fan!
“Originally conceived in the summer of 1995, the Hendrix family’s first full sponsored tribute concert was born as the headlining attraction at Seattle’s annual Bumbershoot Arts & Music Festival in September 1995. From its early beginnings as the Jimi Hendrix Electric Guitar Festival, the wheels were clearly in motion for this tribute concert concept to become something much bigger than just a single event.” – from the Experience Hendrix website.
