Guitar virtuosos Eric Johnson and Mike Stern brought their Eclectic Guitars show to Granada Theater Wednesday night, with support from Anton Fig (of David Letterman fame) on drums, and Chris Maresh on bass guitar. All were in top form last night, with a head-spinning level of talent and musicianship on one stage.
Guitar Player magazine has called Austin, TX’s Eric Johnson “one of the most respected guitarists on the planet”. With ten solo releases under his belt, Eric has also performed a multitude of guest appearances, from Cat Stevens to John5 (of Rob Zombie’s current band).
Mike Stern (half-brother of actress Kyra Sedgwick, wife of actor Kevin Bacon) was also hailed by Guitar Player magazine as Best Jazz Guitarist of 1993, and has performed with jazz greats such as Billy Cobham, Miles Davis, and Jaco Pastorius before launching his extensive solo career.
