The Andy Timmons Band (with Mike Daane on bass, and Rob Avsharian on drums) performed once again at at The Guitar Sanctuary’s Sanctuary Music and Events Center in McKinney Tuesday night (see related: Andy Timmons at The Sanctuary, 2014 and the Sanctuary’s Grand Opening, 2013). The band played many familiar standards, including a condensed selection songs from the ‘Plays Sgt. Pepper’ release (an instrumental re-imagining of the Beatles classic ‘Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band’), and also debuted several new songs from their new album, yet to be released.
The band kicked off the start of their 15 date March tour right here at home and will head across the pond for the remaining dates. Andy will also pick up touring with his other project Protocol II (with Simon Phillips, Steve Weingart, and Ernest Tibbs) in April and May.
The merchandise table included many of Andy’s CDs, and also featured his new interactive guitar instructional software DVD ‘Electric Expression’ from True Fire. Some key features of the DVD; “All of the key demonstrations, performances and examples are tabbed and notated for your practice, reference and study purposes. You’ll also get Guitar Pro files so that you can loop and/or slow any section down as you work through the lessons. Plus, Andy generously includes all of the rhythm tracks for you to work with on your own.”
Truly a guitar-geek’s dream (I bought one for myself!).
